A warm welcome!
Whether you live in Chelmsford or are just visiting, whether you’re a Christian or are new to church, whether you come by yourself or with friends and family, and whatever age you are and wherever you’re from, you’ll be most welcome! If you’re not used to church services, please don’t worry: we love having visitors among us. You’ll have everything you need projected on-screen if you’d like to join in, and no-one is ever put on the spot.
Engaging with God
We meet as a church to worship God, who has loved us and saved us from our rebellion against him by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and instead of us. We understand that it is God the Father himself who calls us together in the name of Jesus his Son to worship him in the power of his Holy Spirit. The service begins by reminding us of that greatest of privileges. We confess our sins together, receive his forgiveness, hear his Word read, pray for our needs, our neighbours and God’s world and his church throughout the world. We preach God’s word to help us all understand Jesus better and enjoy a life of loving him, and close the service by receiving God’s blessing.
Hearing from Jesus in the Bible, responding in song.
Throughout the service we hear shorter Bible passages (for example, to assure us that our sins are forgiven or to help us pray) and we sing Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, with a mixture of ancient classics and modern compositions.
All ages
Children are especially welcome to participate fully in our services, and we expect them to be children. We expect and are delighted by a certain level of sound from little ones. Do feel free to speak with them and help them understand and participate. Head over to the young people and students page to find out more about children in services and the other activities we offer.
Christian fellowship
After every service we enjoy tea and coffee together and we would love it if you would join us so we can get to know you.
